Pools of Vomit and Screaming Males

According to Archie, one of our female receptionists has a fancy for me. We'll just have to wait and see on that one.

Last night was a bit of a strange one. First off, we have eventually sorted the problem of locking the gate. Although I can't say too much about it here, all I will say is that it fooled about a dozen vehicles during the night, and boy Alex was pleased.

Just after Alex retired for the evening, I heard a few vehicles heading back from town, so I headed down to the gate to ensure that all was well. I noticed a familiar figure walking towards me, it was Andy, the day warden. Apparently someone had called him and said the motor home adjacent to theirs was making too much noise. We both walked around the field to narrow it down to two vehicles, directly opposite each other. Andy asked them both to quieten down which they did, although they didn't realise that they were that loud outside their respective vehicles.

I spoke to a lovely crowd of Scottish pensioners who came back just before midnight. They were all very pleasant and likable. I was joking with them, asking them why they didn't jump over the gate to get back in, one of the female group replied with, "Oh, no' in this dress, it's too long!" I left them to return back to their caravans with a smile on their faces.

Archie received a complaint from a drunken male with a rottweiler. Apparently the tent behind their own, one of the occupants was snoring loudly, according to the male with the rottweiler, it was disturbing them from getting to sleep. Archie was asked if he could wake up the occupants to ask them not to snore. When Archie returned to the tent later they were still complaining, but this time there was no noise coming from the snoring occupant of the tent behind them. When Archie left them, he went around to the rear of the tent and was met by the partner of the snorer. She was very apologetic and said that she had heard everything that they were saying about her partner. Only time will tell if she has made a complaint about them.

It was very quiet until around one-ish, when Archie was walking around one of the tent fields and heard someone vomiting. As he turned around, he saw the occupant bursting out of his tent and running in the general direction of the toilet block. He was sick a further three times before he made it there. Luckily it rained during the night and washed the majority of the vomit away.

Myself and Archie were sat in the "office" having a quick coffee during a quiet spell and half-way through the cup of golden brown goodness, when I heard a loud scream. It was time to down cups, grab the 'trusty steed' and head out. Turns out, that our screamer was in the furthest field from our "office" and we had heard it crystal clear. Archie tends to take the more 'softly-softly' approach to troublemakers, whereas I prefer the 'direct-threat' approach. We quickly established which tent the noise was coming from and I instructed Archie to go chat to the tents who were awoken by the noise. I walked over to the tent, shook it and said in the most serious voice anyone can muster at three in the morning, "Night warden" A male inside the tent screamed very loudly at this point, "You have two minutes to quieten down or you will be leaving the park NOW." It was followed closely by the obligatory half-hearted apologies. I wasn't prepared to leave them alone, incase they started up again. They all piled out of the tent and approached me, cautiously, one by one. "Can we go to the toilet and get our stuff from the car?" I decided to let them, but only two left, so I asked Archie to tail them to ensure they were quiet. Which, surprisingly, they were. They eventually got back into their tent and went to bed. The occupant of a tent, which was close-by, came over to me and said, "Thank you so much. You handled that very professionally, I'd have kicked them off ages ago." It's nice to be appreciated now and again. They are booked in for tonight as well, but after a short chat with Alex this morning, I doubt they will be.

After that, it was quiet night. Thankfully. When I was wandering the grounds in the early morning, I found a five pound note. Right next to the screamer's car. Karma, anyone?
